HMVS Programs

Schedule Options: We have flexible scheduling options to meet each family's needs.

Choose M/W; T/Th; M-Th; or 5 days per week. 

Hours: M-Th: 9-2. Fridays: 9-11:30

Age Groups: 

We use a multi-age approach in which all the children are together for lunch and afternoon projects. In the mornings, the children are divided by age into the following groups: 

Explorers (ages 5-6) At this age, the children are just discovering the world and their own powers and abilities. Academic learning is gentle with brief, fun lessons. 

Voyagers (ages 7-9) These children are ready for deeper learning, greater responsibility, and more independence. 

Trailblazers (ages 10-13) Trailblazers have gained the skills to work independently, develop projects on their own, and act as mentors and leaders.

Community Building: Building community is an important part of our mission. We engage with families through frequent communication, special family events, and by offering a curriculum lending library. Several of our parents have organized regular parent events such as meeting for breakfast or a book club. We connect with the community as we visit local merchants and farmers, invite craftspeople to visit the school, and host events such as our Veterans' Day Pizza Party and our annual appreciation lunch for city workers.
